Our projects evolve from a profound understanding of the genuine needs and we give back what we owe to society. TF MITHRA, the charity wing of the Travancore Foundation functions for the welfare of the deprived local communities.
Tarani : Girl Child At Risk
Our objective is to provide the girl child with an opportunity for self-discovery and self-reliance through education. We support girls in the age group 14 – 19. We have identified 5 school-going girls and one girl for higher studies, totaling 6 in all. The support is mostly in kind, that is, bags, textbooks, umbrellas, uniforms, clothes, hygiene products, hospital assistance & PTA contributions. The recipients will be provided with counseling, for basic skills and personality development. Our dedicated field worker interacts with and monitors their progress on a monthly basis.
Sanjeevani: Hope For The Aged
Senior citizens struggling with lingering health and mental disorders due to inadequate basic amenities like shelter, food, and clothing. They will be provided support on a monthly basis with medicines, clothes, and nutritive Food. Our healthcare services staff will be visiting these beneficiaries, once a month to evaluate their medical condition in order to provide further support as and when required.
Subham: Critical Life Support
An initiative under CSR Support programs for children of either gender, age 5 to 18, suffering from acute health issues. We are thankful for the financial support from Johnson Lifts Pvt Ltd, Chennai, under the CSR program.
NB: The specific cases above are all from households with limited incomes.
All financial support procedures are through concerned hospital account numbers or through the recipient account numbers only. Our current beneficiaries come from different strata of society and cultural backgrounds. That is, our approach to finding beneficiaries, is based on economic and secular standards only. All recipients and beneficiaries are vetted thoroughly, identification processes are completed, and bank accounts are established. All the above is carried out by our field staff and thereafter sanctioned by the management.
All donations to our charity program are eligible for income tax exemption under section 80 G.
